Ca’ Rezzonico – Museum in the beautiful palace

The museum, which is housed in the beautiful palace Casa Rezzonico, was opened in 1936. Visitors experience 18th century Venice in the Renaissance style building. Here you can not only see paintings by artists such as Giandomenico Tiepolo, Francesco Guardi or Pietro Longhi, but also get an impressive insight into the splendid life of the Venetian nobility at that time.

Impressive ceiling windows, chapel or ballroom are as worth seeing as antique furniture or the Venetian glass collection. Giorgio Massari designed another highlight at Ca’ Rezzonico: the grand staircase of honour. In a cafeteria, you can review your tour of the museum with a small snack. Museum Palazzo Mocenigo – Fabrics & Fashion

In 1945 the last descendant of the influential Mocenigo family bequeathed the Gothic building to the city of Venice. Since 1985 it has served as a museum of fabrics and fashion with many exhibits of Venetian fashion from the 17th and 18th centuries. From the well-known dresses with a hip extension to various gloves, men’s waistcoats and corsets, you will find everything that is relevant in this field.

Film fans can expect a special exhibit, as the museum displays the ball gown from Anne Hathaway’s appearance at the Venice Film Festival. A library also provides information about the history of fabrics, fashion and costumes of the 18th century.

Once the birthplace and home of the librettist and comedy poet Carlo Goldoni, the palace now invites you on a small but exquisite foray into the art of theatre. The design of the rooms is based on scenes from his famous plays, which are also recreated by puppets.

Murano Glass Museum – The history of glass

Venice is famous for glass production and especially for Murano glass. A history that already began in the Middle Ages. The Murano Glass Museum is one of the most famous museums of this kind worldwide. Spread over two floors you will see numerous exhibits from different centuries.

Among them are donations from the large glass companies of Murano. Admire for example a miniature garden made of glass or the huge chandelier. The Coppa Barovier is the highlight among the exhibits. In the 15th century, the magnificent blue chalice with elaborate decorations was a noble gift for weddings.

Ca’ Pesaro – Modern art from the 19th and 20th century
